Translation options

All the messages, buttons and titles under the template control that the user will see, are stored by default in a text file called NMENG.TRN in the %ClarionRoot\LIBSRC folder.

In the %ClarionRoot\3RDPARTY\EXAMPLES\NeatMessage folder you will find some TRN files:

NMENG.TRN English

NMSPA.TRN Spanish

NMFRE.TRN French (Thanks to Jean-Pierre GUTSATZ)

NMPOR.TRN Portuguese (Thanks to Gustavo Pinsard)

NMGER.TRN German (Thanks to Guenter Lamping)

If you want to switch your output language, just select a different file in the "general" tab, "Translation file" setting in the global area (See Variables Tab).

The file consist in a series of equates. Don't delete any of them, nor change its names. To customize your translation just change the text between single quotes.

For example, this entry from the NMENG.TRN file:

JALNMButtonYes            EQUATE('&Yes')

This is the text of the standard "yes" button.

In the NMSPA.TRN file:

JALNMButtonYes            EQUATE('&Si')
